The Association of Fish Processing and Trading Companies was set up by the biggest Russian companies to consolidate their business, to help in increasing efficiency, and to protect their lawful rights and interests.
The development of the fish market will be more constructive if the various companies find it possible to agree their policy, and to seek acceptable solutions for the future growth of this sector. The market should be regulated by its direct participants, but this will remain ineffective as long as it is based on the narrow interests of a given company alone. The Association has assumed responsibility for uniting the efforts of the processing and trading companies which are interested in the sector’s future development.
The following are the Association’s objectives:
- Development and implementation of special programmes to expand the fish market;
- Organising cooperation with the state executive authorities and municipal authorities;
- Representing and protecting the common interests of its members before parliamentary, governmental and judicial bodies, and also in relations with non-commercial organisations and businesses;
- Making the sector as a whole more attractive to investors;
- Representing its members on the Russian and foreign markets;
- Supporting and also organising various cultural and community events for charitable purposes, in order to demonstrate the social responsibility of members of this industry sector;
- Collecting voluntary contributions for the implementation of projects relating to its aims and objectives.
